Welcome to the True Crime Podcast Festival! 

As a community-focused event, we prioritize ethics, integrity, and advocacy, especially for family advocates and survivors. To ensure a positive and respectful environment for all attendees, we ask all attendees, creators, and vendors to adhere to the following code of conduct. 

 

Core Principles 

 

1. Respect and Dignity: Treat all family advocates, survivors, and attendees with the utmost respect and dignity. Refrain from disparaging, negative remarks, or insensitive comments toward any individual, especially family advocates and survivors.

2. Ethical Conduct: Uphold the highest standards of ethics in all interactions, communications, and content. Ensure that all products, discussions, and presentations are sensitive and considerate of the experiences of family advocates and survivors. 

3. Advocacy and Support: – Recognize and honor the central role of family advocates and survivors in our community. – Provide support and solidarity to family advocates and survivors, acknowledging their experiences and contributions. 

 

Event Guidelines 

 

1. Behavior: – Maintain professionalism in all interactions during the festival. – Avoid any actions or language that could be perceived as harmful, dismissive, or disrespectful. 

2. Content: – Ensure all content shared or displayed aligns with the festival’s ethics, integrity, and advocacy values. – Avoid sensationalism or exploitation of true crime and paranormal topics that could be distressing to family advocates and survivors. 

3. Communication: – Communicate openly and respectfully with event organizers and attendees. – If there are any concerns or issues, contact Lanie Hobbs or Lisa Strawn directly to discuss.
